Short update

Getting back into the swing of things has taken a little longer than I anticipated. Simon is having a harder time adjusting to Mothers Day Out this year, seperation anxiety is defentially getting the better of us. It it so hard to hand him over and have to listen to him cry as I walk down the hall, it breaks my heart every time. But it must be done I know I am a better mommy for him when I get a little time for me and to get things done that are not as easy with a 14 month old following you around.
Fourteen months, WOW, can't believe it has been that long. Why is it the older I get the fasted time flys? Who knows, guess I will have to add that to the list of questions that I must ask God when I get to heaven.
Tech football season has started which means many weekend trips to the lower 806 for game days making for a very busy weekend and not to much relaxing. But I love the game and couldn't imagine my fall with out it.
I am going to get to enjoy a weekend scrapbook retreat so I must cut this short and start page planning.
Until next time....

Lake Travis

One week after returning from Colorado and throwing the BEST 1st Birthday party (sometimes I feel the need to pat myself on the back) we took off with the Nickens Family for a little trip to the lake.

Deer that greated us the first morning we were there.

Patio
Not sure how but I didn't manage to get any other pics of the house.

We had the fortune of renting a great lake house that was AWESOME. We were able to take some time to relax and have a little fun.

Rented a boat for the day on saturday and had a little fun on the water. Simon did great hangin' out with everyone on the boat for about 8 hours. He even got to take a little swim.

Chillin' on the boat

Fun Times
The trip was much to short as all vacations are but it was much needed and next time we must plan to stay a week and really get in some good relaxation time.

Time in Colorado

Well two months later I am finally getting around to a little post about our trip to Colorado. We had a great time. I was very pleasently suprised at how well Simon did for the 10+ hour car ride, he napped some but mostly played contently with his cousin Ryan. The inconsolable crying didn't begin until the last 20 min. of our trip while driving up the mountain into Estes Park.

Chillaxin'

While in Estes Park we visited friends at Harvest House where my mom lived for awhile. Melissa and I each lived there with her for a time too. It was great to get to visit with all the women and see all the good things that are still going on up there. We also did the tourist thing and walked around all the shops downtown. I think the most unique thing we did was go to the Estes Ark and Teddy Bear Factory. Not somewherre we spent a lot of time but was cool to take the boys to see this giant ark like the one Noah built.

Pretty cool!

The next leg of our journey was to Aurora where my gramma Rose and uncle Blaine live. We stayed with them and they got to meet Simon for the first time. Simon was not really sure what to think of all these new people so he became very clingy and didn't want anybody but mommy. That made things a little rough and stressful for me. The big outing while there was going to the Denver Zoo we all had a good time and got to see some pretty cool animals.

Pots and pans provided the entertainment at gramma's house.
Rhino was not very happy they put him outside by himself.
Simon after the monkey house.
Sleepy lion, I don't blame him I was exausted too.

To round out our trip we stayed with my Aunt Susan and did a family birthday celebration. It was great to get to catch up with everyone!

Stairs provided hours of entertainment.

Practicing for the big birthday party when we get home.

Last but not least we made a trip to Castle Rock for a little outlet shopping, no trip to Colorado is complete without shopping!

All in all it was a great trip but I was ready to be home with my honey and sleeping in my own bed.
