Party day was very exciting, I had been planning this for the last 4 months or so and I was super excited to see it all come together. I lucked out in finding a lot of the things I need without having to order much online which was nice because I'm a very visual person and want to physically see how things coordinate.

Over all it was a success. We had a great time with all the family and friends who joined us to celebrate out sweet little man.

One Year as a Family

July 21, 2009 we became a family. Before I thought of Saul and I as a couple because it was just the two of us. Now with the addition of Simon I feel that we are truely our own little family unit. I still remember the day so clearly, arriving at the hospital at 6am to be induced 5 days post due. Pitocin started by 7am and the waiting game began. Family began to arrive about 9am and a few friends came by as well. Epidural recieved by 11:30 (I did not feel the need to be a hero and go aunatural) and the waiting continued. By 6:30pm Simon was getting restless in there so it was agreed that the safest option was to have a c-section. 7:32pm Simon Joseph Hernandez made his first apperance in this great big world and my world was forever changed. I remember hearing him cry and thinking "I'm a mom, that is my little boy, it is my job from now on to protect and care for him". Until it happens to you you can't imagine how one tiny person can change your life forever and turn you from a "couple" to a "family".

Since last time...

Well I have been told that I have been slacking in the blog department so I guess it is time to get caught up, so here is an overview of what has been going on to keep me so busy the last month or so.
I offically have a one year old! How crazy is that? I swear it feels like yesterday we came home with our sweet little bundle of joy and my life changed forever. Simon and I had a great vacation with my mom, sister, and Ryan. It was great to get to see old friends and catch up with family we haven't seen in a long time. Simon's birthday party went off without a hitch, we had a great turn out and enjoyed celebrating out little man. We also had the chance to go as a family to hang out on Lake Travis for a weekend for some much needed R&R.
My goal over the next week will be to post a little more detail and some pics of our fun times this past month for all to enjoy. Hopefully Simon will cooperate.
